Here’s why I think the 842DB is one of the best trailers on the market right now for a single person, a couple, or anyone who wants a legitimate writer’s den on wheels.
The Front Bedroom-as-Office Trick
The 842DB has two full bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom — a rear king suite and a front queen bedroom. Most buyers will look at that and think “guest room” or “kids’ room.” I look at it and see an office.

Close the door on the front bedroom, set up a laptop, and you’ve got a genuine private workspace. No laptop and papers spread across the dining table where they get shuffled every time someone wants to eat. No trying to “focus” six feet from the TV. You go in, you work, you close the door when you’re done, and you come back to it later exactly as you left it.

If you’re shopping this trailer expecting to comfortably sleep in a crowd, temper those expectations now rather than after you’ve bought it.

Built for Going Off-Grid
The 842DB comes standard with a 200-watt solar panel, with the option to add a second. For anyone who wants to take the “writer’s den” idea seriously — parking somewhere quiet, with no hookups, no neighbors, no distractions — that’s a meaningful feature, not a checkbox. Boondocking further off-grid becomes a real option instead of a battery-anxiety gamble.
The Trade-offs
No trailer is perfect for every situation, and it’s worth being upfront about where this one asks for compromise:

Length. At 41 ’10”, the 842DB is a long trailer. Towing takes more planning — wider turns, longer sight lines, and more consideration when picking a tow vehicle. This isn’t a trailer you back into a tight spot without some practice.
Width restrictions at some campgrounds. The wide-body design that makes the interior feel spacious also means some older or smaller campgrounds and RV parks have width limits that this trailer may not clear. Worth checking site specs before you book, especially at older parks or more rustic locations.

Neither of these is a dealbreaker — they’re just the cost of the extra space that makes everything above possible. If you know what you’re getting into on the towing and site-selection side, the trade-off is well worth it.
